Flux is a mobile app concept designed to enhance the New York City museumgoing experience by providing real-time navigation maps, discussion forums, artwork categorization features, and information on upcoming exhibits.
Designed in collaboration with Yuxin Ding and Xinyao Huang for a class assignment.
Field research at MoMA was conducted prior to the design process through a series of interviews and surveys with random museumgoers. We asked about their difficulties with navigating the museum and what they would like to see implemented to make the process easier and more enjoyable for them.
Based on these resulting problems learned from visitors, we decided to design an app that would serve as an all-in-one tool to help enhance the way people move around museums and interact with the art inside of it. With discussion forums in multiple languages, we also aimed at reaching an international audience.
